Active School Week
Our active school week took place from the 24th to the 28th of June this year. We enjoyed many fun sports and activities organised throughout the week. On Monday, a coach from our local soccer club, Banagher United, took 1st – 6th class for soccer drills, games and matches. On Tuesday, we tried out the new “Fun and run” game launched by the GAA with Conor Clancy. We also had our sports day on Tuesday. The parent’s association were actively involved in helping to organise activities including penalty shoot-out, obstacle course, sack race and much more!! On Wednesday, Neal Buckley, a local gym owner, organised a box fit class for 3rd – 6th class. On Thursday, Amanda Martin led a Pilates class for each class in the school. This was a fabulous way for us to stretch and wind down after a busy week. On Friday, we enjoyed a tug-of-war competition between classes and a penalty shoot out against the teachers. Each day, we engaged in Drop Everything and Run and Drop Everything and Dance time. It was a very successful week and we are already looking forward to next year!
